History of Tuckerton

  • Tuckerton is a borough located in Ocean County, New Jersey. The area has a rich history dating back to the 1700s when the Lenape Native Americans were the first inhabitants of the area. The first European settlers arrived in the 1700s, mostly fishermen and farmers. The borough was named after the Tuckerton Creek, which runs through the area.
