History of Sandy Hook NJ

• Sandy Hook is a spit of land located in Monmouth County, New Jersey. The area has a rich history dating back to the 1600s when the Lenape Native Americans were the first inhabitants of the area. The first European settlers arrived in the 1700s, mostly fishermen and farmers. The land was used primarily for farming and fishing until the late 1800s.

• In the late 1800s, Sandy Hook began to attract visitors as a seaside resort. The area's natural beauty, sandy beaches, and mild climate made it a popular destination for beach-goers and outdoor enthusiasts. A number of large hotels were built, and the population of the area began to grow.
