History of Barnegat Light 

• Barnegat Light, NJ is a small town located on Long Beach Island in Ocean County, NJ. The town was first settled in the late 1700s and was known as "Barrett's Light" after the lighthouse that was built there in 1835 to guide ships through the treacherous Barnegat Inlet.
