Point Pleasant is for families.  Point Pleasant is a town in Ocean County New Jersey. History of Point Pleasant

  • Point Pleasant, NJ is a seaside town located in Ocean County on the Jersey Shore. The area that is now Point Pleasant was originally settled by the Lenni Lenape Native American tribe.

  • The first European settlers arrived in the early 1700s, and the town was officially incorporated in 1851. In the late 1800s and early 1900s, Point Pleasant began to develop as a popular vacation spot for visitors from New York and Philadelphia. Many grand hotels, boardwalks, and amusements were built during this time. The town's beaches and boardwalk were major draws, and Point Pleasant became known as a premier seaside resort.

  • During World War II, Point Pleasant served as a training ground for soldiers and as a site for coastal defense batteries. After the war, Point Pleasant continued to grow and develop, with new homes and businesses being built in the area.
