Seaside Heights, NJ

Home of the great American Boardwalk, Marruca's Tomato pie, the legacy of MTV's Jersey Shore Series and so much more. Being bored in Seaside Heights - Forgetta'bout it. Seaside Heights has gone through an epic resurgence from the devastation of Hurricane Sandy in 2012 and the grittynesss of the 80's and 90's.  It's now a very family-friendly resort town and a very popular vacation spot for families with children. Seaside Heights is known for its boardwalk, beaches, and amusement parks.  The town offers a variety of activities and attractions that are well-suited to kids and adults. 

Seaside Heights has wide clean beaches that are perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and playing in the sand. There are a few beaches including Children can build sandcastles, play beach games, and swim in the ocean. There is something for everyone here - even a Drinking beach, Funtown Beach which allows Alcoholic Beverages. The town is also home to a variety of water activities, including boating, fishing, and swimming.  There are two bay beaches as well as the beach flanked by the famous Boardwalk and pier.  It's so easy to take a break from the sun and beach fun to play some arcade games, catch a musical act or go on a ride. 

 

Many vacationers from New York, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania enjoy summers, overnights, or a relaxing or exciting week-long vacation. It is great for families as any location is only 2-3 blocks from the beach or bay. There is an abundance of restaurants all within walking distance, you really don't even need a car once on the Island.  For history buffs, the town has several landmarks and museums, including the Seaside Heights Historical Museum which houses the famed Wooden horse Carousel. Seaside Heights Borders Seaside Park and Share the two-mile Boardwalk including the new toddler/kid splash park, the Ocean club, and more.  A newly installed (free) community outdoor workout facility allows you to get in your daily exercise. 

 

The 1.5 mile long boardwalk is anchored by Casino Pier, pizzerias, restaurants, and bars galore.  All of the establishments are kid friendly so adults can sit and enjoy a beer, Cheestake, and fries while the little ones munch down on their pizza or chicken fingers.  Something for everyone adults can enjoy over a dozen bars and taverns in a walkable radius - great for a casual drink or to set up a bar crawl walking to 10 different Bars down the boardwalk and the Boulevard.  It's easy to rent bikes, scooters, boats, kayaks, jet skis, or any other "down the shore" indulgence.  The bay is as beautiful and accessible to swim, sunbathe or enjoy a sunset. 


Visitors can also enjoy the thrill of the amusement park rides, the classic arcade games, or the unique boutiques and gift shops.  The town is also home to a variety of water activities, including boating, fishing, and swimming. For history buffs, the town has several landmarks and museums, including the Seaside Heights Historical Museum and the Seaside Heights Lighthouse. 

 

For those looking to explore beyond Seaside Heights, the town is conveniently located near several popular attractions, including the Jersey Shore Premium Outlets, Six Flags Great Adventure, and Jenkinson's Boardwalk.

 

Throughout the year, Seaside Heights also hosts several events and festivals, including the Seaside Heights Summer Festival, the St. Patrick's Day Parade, the Seaside Heights Polar Plunge, and the Seafood Festival. It also hosts weekly events including Seaside Heights Summer Concert Series, Rock the Farm Fall Concert,  Wednesday Night Fireworks, the Festival, the St. Patrick's Day Parade, and the Barbeque Festival.  The town also offers ample parking options, making it a convenient destination for visitors.  Seaside is two miles from Island Beach State park which has 10 miles of coastal wilderness and wildlife.  Toms River and Brick Township are over the bridge which increases access to any/all box stores and even more restaurants!

In addition to its beaches and boardwalk, Seaside Heights also offers a lively nightlife scene, with several bars and clubs for those looking for a fun time. For families and couples, there are also several romantic restaurants, perfect for a special evening out.  The MTV Jersey reality show showcased the fun in the bars.  Seaside has transformed into a more family-friendly environment but still salutes the fame this cast brought to its shores.

In "Jersey Shore," the cast members spent their summers living and partying together in Seaside Heights, NJ. The show followed their daily lives, including their romantic escapades, gym and tanning routines, and nights out at the club. The cast also worked part-time jobs in the town, often causing drama with each other and other visitors. History of Seaside Heights
